It was a moving experience to see an entire school body work as one team to promote kindness. There was a ripple effect through the community that continues to be felt. One student decided to organize a collection of coloring books for cancer patients of all ages, another organized a “thirst project” initiative to help bring clean drinking water to less developed countries.

The students who produced the video had so much fun but the true fun came in getting students, family and faculty to vote for the video online. People could not stop talking about it and encouraging others to vote.

Great bonding experience.

I think it renewed my faith in our current students… I saw a tremendous amount of school spirit from students, staff, faculty and even parents. What a wonderful way to engage them all with a wonderful message.

It has given me an opportunity to provide the students a competitive experience, with an excellent message. They really like working against other schools.

The result [of participating in the contest] has been a school-wide focus on doing and noticing nice acts and words. For one of the videos, students organized all 850 of us to walk to the football field to form the letters that spelled out “be kind.” It was a moving experience to see an entire school body work as one team to promote kindness.
