Envision Kindness Program Feedback

The following feedback was received anonymously from educators whose students participated in our inaugural (2015) Student Film Contest.

  • It was a moving experience to see an entire school body work as one team to promote kindness. There was a ripple effect through the community that continues to be felt. One student decided to organize a collection of coloring books for cancer patients of all ages, another organized a “thirst project” initiative to help bring clean drinking water to less developed countries.

  • The students who produced the video had so much fun but the true fun came in getting students, family and faculty to vote for the video online. People could not stop talking about it and encouraging others to vote.

  • Great bonding experience.

  • I think it renewed my faith in our current students… I saw a tremendous amount of school spirit from students, staff, faculty and even parents. What a wonderful way to engage them all with a wonderful message.

  • Opportunities for students to create something where they think beyond their own life is always valuable.

  • [The program] reinforced how people should treat others.

  • [The students] had fun with the project…It set the tone for kindness in my classroom.

  • [The students] loved it.

  • They had fun with the project. In addition, it set the tone for kindness in my classroom.

  • I think it renewed my faith in our current students. I have always been a fan of school spirit and have lately felt that kids do not care about school spirit. This project renewed that faith. I saw a tremendous amount of school spirit from students, staff, faculty and even parents. What a wonderful way to engage them all with a wonderful message."

  • Just glad to know there is such a wonderful organization in SE CT that we were able to partner with!

  • It has given me an opportunity to provide the students a competitive experience, with an excellent message. They really like working against other schools.

  • The result [of participating in the contest] has been a school-wide focus on doing and noticing nice acts and words. For one of the videos, students organized all 850 of us to walk to the football field to form the letters that spelled out “be kind.” It was a moving experience to see an entire school body work as one team to promote kindness. There was a ripple effect through the community that continues to be felt…I surmise that Envision Kindness has shifted our focus. We’re actively looking for the good in others. . .
