PROGRAMS

Our programs are designed to provide creative pathways
through which young people and their communities can
better connect with others around them.

Thank you for your interest in Envision Kindness’ programs! Below you’ll find information on our current slate of opportunities for young people, including our two flagship programs:

Student Film Contest          Student Photography and Film Contest

Our programs are designed to achieve two overarching goals:

  1. To engage communities in thinking about, capturing, and promoting kindness
  2. To generate a broad range of diverse, kindness-focused content that demonstrates how kindness, empathy and compassion connect us and inspire people to choose kindness as a way of life.

More specifically, our programs are designed to provide creative pathways through which young people and their communities can better connect with others around them. These social-emotional learning projects challenge students to be creative and collaborative, to be inwardly thoughtful and outwardly observant. Through the creation and promotion of original works that show, describe or otherwise discuss kindness, empathy and compassion, these virtues and values reverberate through communities. This encourages qualities like volunteerism and community-building, making our neighborhoods, towns and cities better places to live.  It also actively prevents negative social interactions like bullying (both in-person and online), and more extreme forms of violence like shootings. Research suggests that these proactive strategies are more effective than retroactive deterrents like punishments.

We have also engineered our programs to be flexible and seamlessly fit into existing academic curricula and youth programming schedules, so it’s easy for teachers, administrators and youth leaders to encourage participation.

Finally, to inspire participation and increase community engagement, we have framed our programs as friendly competitions. Will your school, town, or larger community be able to claim kindness bragging rights?

Program Testimonials

  • It was a moving experience to see an entire school body work as one team to promote kindness. There was a ripple effect through the community that continues to be felt. One student decided to organize a collection of coloring books for cancer patients of all ages, another organized a “thirst project” initiative to help bring clean drinking water to less developed countries.

  • The students who produced the video had so much fun but the true fun came in getting students, family and faculty to vote for the video online. People could not stop talking about it and encouraging others to vote.

  • Great bonding experience.

  • I think it renewed my faith in our current students… I saw a tremendous amount of school spirit from students, staff, faculty and even parents. What a wonderful way to engage them all with a wonderful message.

  • Opportunities for students to create something where they think beyond their own life is always valuable.

  • [The program] reinforced how people should treat others.

  • [The students] had fun with the project…It set the tone for kindness in my classroom.

  • [The students] loved it.

  • The students who produced the video had so much fun but the true fun came in getting students, family and faculty to vote for the video online. People could not stop talking about it and encouraging others to vote.

  • They had fun with the project. In addition, it set the tone for kindness in my classroom.

Our Programs are proving to be TRANSFORMATIONAL! Our experience suggests that our programs have the potential to inspire kindness and connectedness and change lives, strengthening communities from the inside-out.
