“Each year, Buttonwood Farms in Griswold, CT plants over 14 acres of sunflowers and harvests approximately 300,000 blooms for viewing pleasure and to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut. This foundation is a non-profit organization devoted to making wishes possible for children with life-threatening medical conditions. It’s truly incredible to walk through the acres and acres of bright, tall, beautiful sunflowers that have been grown to raise money for such an amazing cause. I came across this very happy flower mixed in with the rest. It immediately brightened up my day, as it did many others as they walked by. Someone so kind found a way to further spread happiness in this field full of hopes and dreams.”-K. Hawkins

“We met in Lisbon, on a student exchange program and very soon realized that, besides the love for dancing, we share a unique love for each other. The kind of love that makes you a better person and inspires you daily. We got engaged this summer and we decided to raise money for our dream honeymoon by dancing on the streets of Sarajevo. Our sign says “For honeymoon”, in Bosnian. Many kind people watched us dance and awarded us with applause and some change. Earning money is great, but doing something you love, with someone you love, is something no money can buy. We raised enough for the honeymoon, thanks to kind strangers who saw our love for what it is; strong, pure and true. Kindness is everywhere, you just need to look more carefully.”-Azra Sahinovic
