Global Photographic Union – GPU (formerly UPI) is a worldwide interactive organization for anyone interested in photography, be they casual, serious amateurs, or professional photographers.

Founded in Goirle, The Netherlands, September 2007, GPU brings together professional and amateur enthusiasts of all ages and levels of achievement. As a nonprofit organization, its mission is to promote and enhance the art and science of photography in all its phases.

Individual members are offered a wide variety of activities: photo and digital competitions, photo exhibitions in different countries, study groups via mail, website access, photo books, magazines, photo festivals, distinctions, titles, and a raft of other activities.

Momenta Workshops was launched ten years ago to train photographers in travel documentary and nonprofit storytelling. With more than 700 students and 50 workshops around the globe, the Momenta model has been helping photographers connect with important stories around the globe. We have changed the way nonprofits think about photography and we happily have helped to create new careers for our students. We have shown our student’s new ways to witness the world, meet new people and explore new ways of storytelling.

Momenta’s photography training workshops pair 15 professional photographers with 15 different nonprofits for 3 days to document their activities. When our clients are finished, they donate a selection of the images to their nonprofit partner. We work closely with small, local nonprofits to create a perfect match between photographer and nonprofit and ensure that both parties are empowered to create and share the powerful stories of the work these organizations are doing to improve their communities every single day.

Join us for our workshops in Puerto Rico (September 20-October 6, 2018) Portland (October 17-21, 2018), Los Angeles (February 20-24, 2019) or New Orleans (April 10-14, 2019). Learn more and register here or at:
